Cadets
Cadets is a program for
boys who are in grades 4-8. We have meetings twice a month on the 2nd and 4th
Monday nights during the school year. The boys can work on a wide variety of
badges individually or with their Cadre. We also have a Bible lesson, game time
and other activities at each meeting. The boys are able to build and race
pinewood derby cars every year at the club level and in our area Pinewood race
in Ripon in February. Other activities include going to
a ball game, local campouts and canoe derbies as well as activities with their
cadre (age group) and counselor. Shirts, books, pinewood cars etc. are provided
at no cost and we have one local fundraiser dinner every year where the boys do
the cooking! If anyone has any questions call the church office and they will
put you in touch with one of the Cadet counselors.

GEMS (Girls Everywhere
Meeting the Savior)
GEMS is a club for
girls who are in 4th - 8th grade. We meet on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each
month from 7-9pm in the Escalon Christian Reformed Church's Fellowship Hall
throughout the school year. We do many fun things throughout the year like
singing, doing badge work, having Bible studies, playing games, and doing
crafts. We also have a Father/Daughter night, a GEM buddy night, and a
Mother/Daughter night. We have a free babysitting night in November and a
fundraiser "soup supper dinner" in December. The 5th-8th graders get to go to camp for a weekend in March. As
you can tell we have a great time, so if you would like to join us, please
contact Debbie Veenstra @ 838-1835 or Kathy Van Vliet (838-0621).
